ASHWELL SCHOOL OF DANCE

Ashwell School of Dance follows the syllabus of the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (I.S.T.D.), where examinations are available but are not compulsory.  Children who do not wish to take exams will still receive the same tuition and will progress in the same way as those who choose to take them.  When an exam is passed at whatever standard, you will receive a certificate and report sheet.  These exams can be taken at all levels from Pre-Primary through to Majors.

Also show work is incorporated into our timetable.  This usually takes place once every two years, is held locally and is a good opportunity for pupils to show off their talents to family and friends who may come along to watch.

There is also a Choreographic Competition, giving pupils a turn to show us their choreographic skills.  Everyone who enters walks away with a certificate, and an adjudicator awards medals, cups and plaques.  Time allowing I try to make this happen once a year.
